WWE Friday Night Smackdown 9/13/2013 Results and Review

Last week's show is here: http://prowresblog.blogspot.com/2013/09/wwe-friday-night-smackdown-962013.html

LIVE NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS REVIEW WITH PICS AND GIFS AT PROWRESBLOG 7:30PM SUNDAY

Big Show came out to start.
He had to read an apology from HHH for his actions on Monday. HHH then came out.

HHH said he'd accept the apology but it was insincere. He said he needed Show to be professional. Question I've been wondering is why doesn't Show just have DB fake being beaten up? He could hit him lightly and DB could sell it big.
HHH said Show would be suspended tonight without pay. The Shield came out.

The Shield beat up and triple powerbombed Show in a really fun mini-brawl. The Shield got the advantage early and Show climbed on a table to get away. Show threw everyone off the table then did a flying spear from it. They got back in and he got beat up with chairs then finished off.

AJ came out for the next match.

Layla, Aksana and Alicia Fox vs Natalya, Naomi and Brie Bella

The faces won by DQ when AJ came in. AJ got beaten up and dragged out by her cronies.

Vickie announced a dance-off with Fandango and R-Truth. Please JBL, stop saying what's up. Please. I'll give you $5 to never do it again.

Miz wanted in. He said he was the "Mizco Inferno" and asked for the fan in the pink jacket above to give him the jacket. Nah, no way he is a plant. Don't we all wear fruity sequin jackets to WWE shows? Khali then came out and wanted in.

Miz won. R-Truth was the highlight here as he was really funny doing backup dancing for everyone else. Fandango wasn't happy at Miz winning.

Miz and R-Truth then did the Kid N Play dance to "Scrub The Ground". Good song but now I'll have the image of Miz dancing to it in my head. At worst, this was better than any match involving these four would have been.

They said Ryback was the new WWE backstage announcer.

"Alot of you don't know I'm a concert pianist. Many of you don't know my linguistic skills." - Ryback
Robert Evans aka Archibald Peck aka RD Evans from Chikara/ROH and various indies appeared.

Ryback asked him questions like his weight and height and if he wanted to be a WWE star before nailing him.
"I have dreams. My dreams are beating the holy hell out of people like you." - Ryback
"Back to you guys at ringisde." - Ryback
Ryback kicked him and asked if he had anything else to say. Ryback as WWE's new ace backstage interviewer is MONEY. We may have a new best gimmick for 2013. Legit, this was the best thing he ever did.
Vickie said Ricardo can't be at ringside with RVD. They argued in spanish and she then accepted, saying Ricardo can be in RVD's corner at NoC if RVD is in Ricardo's corner tonight against Alberto Del Rio.

Damien Sandow vs Santino Marella

Santino won with a Cobra. Do I even need to tell you how stupid it is to have a potential world champion jobbing to a sleeve?

Paul asked for a public boycott of Night of Champions. He told the fans there were better things to spend money on. He said if you buy the show, you will see Heyman get beat up.
"This is the last time you're ever gonna see Paul Heyman." - Paul Heyman
Paul then said he will always love Punk but will never forgive the fans. Paul was good here but he really shouldn't have been tryng to convince people not to order the show. Speaking of Night of Champions, I'll be reviewing it live with pics and gifs Sunday!

Alberto Del Rio vs Ricardo Rodriguez

Might we see a Minus 5 Star Frog Splash?

Alberto won in a quick squash with a nasty reverse superplex. He put Ricardo in an armbar after until RVD attacked.

RVD then cleared out ADR.

Dolph Ziggler vs Dean Ambrose

Dolph won by DQ when The Shield ran in. Good match up to that point. Ambrose was really performing well with great facials and Zig sold his stuff good. A shame we didn't get a real finish on this. The Uso's then came in.

Vickie then turned this into a trios match.

The Shield vs The Uso's and Dolph Ziggler

Rollins pinned an Uso after putting his knees up during a splash. Good match here. The heels worked over the faces early, the faces got a fast paced comeback and then the Shield stole it. This was quick but good.

Edge took shots at HHH then Orton. Orton took offense to Edge calling him a sellout.
Orton said DB was good for business, but he's best for business. DB said he didn't care what's best for business and said DB would never be champion. DB already was champion though.
DB said he dreamed about being champ, not being the face of a corporation.

They then got into it with DB winning the brawl with a Yes Lock.

Overall thoughts: I thought it was a pretty good show overall with Ryback being hilarious, Truth being good and some decent stuff with The Shield.

    what an interesting idea.

-I don't know what the f*ck is going on with the divas nowadays ... they're back to shit again.

-who the hell finds dancing as "fun" in wwe's creative ?! well, at least, we got the reunion of awesome truth ! that tag team was (for the lack of a better word) awesome in 2011. not so much now though ...

    - Archibald Peck ! OMFG !!! HE'S HERE !!! THIS . IS . THE BEST . THING . EVER !!!!!

    - but ryback, too, has been one of my shoot favourites since his heel turn ! his matches with bryan are superb, as much as his matches with cena were shit (sadly) ... but lately, as "the big guy", he's great ! and as an interviewer, he's GREAT !!

    - many stupid things in wwe lately ... many fillers, many repeated promos, a lot of rematches rematches and rematches ... and for the last 4-5 ppvs, I was never excited before the PPV with most matches being thrown out without any sort of decent build at all. infact, I'm surprised that NOC is this sunday ! I feel like summerslam was just yesterday and not much happened at all between the two !!

-finally, thanks for the review. it was a fun little show.
